TRAVEL MEANS A LOT OF THINGS TO A LOT OF PEOPLE.

for Cassandra Noel, a pediatric nurse, model and social media influencer (whew!) who exudes optimism and gratitude, travel is an opportunity to be present in a place. especially when that place is outdoors, and by the ocean. and so, as we approach summer (at long freakin’ last!), we got her to share the details of her recent jaunt to the beaches of southern Cape Cod — and to tell us what to do, see, pack and be present for before the summer crowds set in.

SO, WHAT IS IT ABOUT CAPE COD THAT PEOPLE SO OBSESS OVER? SERIOUSLY, EDUCATE US — WE’RE FROM THE WEST COAST.

“it’s the perfect mix of old-world charm, modern amenities — and that special something that makes you feel far away from home. (even though it's only an hour away from my home.) and the whole place looks exactly like what you’d think Cape Cod would look like: shingled houses, harbor seals, and flower gardens everywhere.”

OK, YEP: SOUNDS HEAVENLY. SO WHERE DID YOU STAY?

“Chatham Bars Inn. it's truly stunning, every inch of it has a rustic elegance and a sense of tranquility i've never felt anywhere else.”

THE ONE THING YOU ALWAYS DO WHEN VISITING?

“visit the Chatham Town Pier. i like to wake up, grab a breakfast burrito (JoMama’s are the best), and enjoy it with some coffee in the morning on the pier. the sun rises right over the ocean and the sandbars glisten, and, from the upper deck, you can see seals swimming and bobbing below you. [editors’ note: SEALS! gah!] there’s no better spot to be in on a warm, sunny morning.”

LATE SPRING IN A BEACH TOWN IS UNPREDICTABLE, AT BEST. WHAT ON EARTH DID YOU PACK?

“a ton of époque évolution, actually. i wore the nonstop dress constantly, usually with a denim jacket, boots and a floppy hat. with fluctuating temperatures and quick spring showers, layers were a must. it rained a LOT when i was there so i was very grateful for how quick the dress and orion leggings dry!”

THE ONE THING YOU ALWAYS PACK?

“my camera.”

SECRET TRAVEL HACK?

“the hotel concierge. it's their job to helpful, and they often suggestions like seasonal events you might not be able to come across on the internet.”
